Kimber CDS9 (Covert Double Stack 9mm) is engineered as a premium personal-defense pistol for the modern concealed-carry user, blending robust construction with ergonomic refinement and modularity. The aluminum frame finished in KimPro® II supports a stainless-steel slide with front and rear serrations and an external extractor to enhance reliability; the pistol is chambered in 9×19 mm and is built as a truly ambidextrous platform featuring a reversible magazine release and full ambidextrous controls for both left- and right-handed shooters. The model is offered optics-ready with a direct-mount cut for RMSc footprints, allowing straightforward installation of micro red-dot sights without compromising ergonomics.
Longevity and smooth operation are achieved via a dual (stacked) recoil-spring assembly rated for up to 10 000 rounds, which softens felt recoil and increases cycle life under repeated use. The firearm includes an accessory rail for lights or lasers, a flat-faced trigger with a vertical break point for consistent trigger pull, and a match-grade stainless-steel barrel of 3.64" length with a ½×28 thread pitch to accommodate suppressors or compensators without additional modification.
The CDS9’s supply and capacity options make it adaptable for different carry preferences: magazines are available in 10, 13, and 15-round configurations and the standard package contains one 13-round magazine and one 15-round magazine, yielding a total carry capacity of 15+1. Dimensionally the pistol measures 17.02 cm in overall length, 2.79 cm in width and weighs approximately 589.7 g with an empty magazine; overall height varies by magazine installed and is 11.58 cm with a 10-round magazine, 12.70 cm with a 13-round magazine and 14.02 cm with a 15-round magazine. These proportions deliver a high round count in a package still suitable for concealed carry.
Ergonomics and control are further enhanced by VZ Frag-pattern G10 grip panels and Frag-pattern checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing, giving a secure purchase under stress or rapid fire. Corrosion-resistant KimPro® II surface treatments on critical components and a match-grade barrel ensure durability and accuracy over extended service.
