The Ruger SR22 is a compact semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 LR, designed as an ideal choice for training, recreational shooting, or everyday carry. With its low recoil and lightweight construction, it is well-suited for both new shooters and experienced users. This model is known for its reliability, smooth trigger operation, and easy handling.
The pistol features a 3.5" stainless steel barrel with a 1:16" right-hand twist and standard profile, which is easily replaceable. The aerospace-grade aluminum slide has a black anodized finish and front and rear serrations for improved manipulation. The black polymer frame includes two interchangeable rubberized grip sleeves with different palm swell sizes, allowing quick customization without tools.
Overall length is 163 mm (6.40"), height 124 mm (4.90"), and width just 24.6 mm (0.97"). The unloaded weight is 496 grams (17.5 oz). Sights consist of a high-visibility 3-dot system with a fixed front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight for both windage and elevation. The rear sight blade is reversible, offering either two white dots or a solid black notch. A Picatinny-style accessory rail beneath the barrel provides mounting options for lights or lasers.
The DA/SA trigger system provides a light double-action pull and a crisp single-action break. The external hammer features a rounded spur for easy cocking. Safety features include an ambidextrous manual safety/decocker, an internal firing pin block, and a magazine disconnect. A visual inspection port in the chamber allows for easy loaded-chamber verification. The SR22 is easy to field strip and maintain.
