Ascent 16" .223Rem

FAXON Ascent 16" is a lightweight AR-15 platform semi-automatic rifle chambered in .223 Rem (5.56×45mm NATO), designed with an emphasis on low weight, maneuverability, recoil mitigation and accuracy. The total weight is just 4.95 lbs (2.245 kg). The rifle is built around a 16" (40.6 cm) Faxon 5.56 NATO Pencil Profile barrel with 1/2"-28 threading, paired with a slim three-port muzzle brake. A mid-length gas system with Faxon's patented adjustable gas block allows the operating system to be tuned for suppressed or unsuppressed use.

The rifle uses a Faxon Enhanced Forged Receiver Set with a tensioning screw for a tight upper-to-lower fit. The operating components include a lightweight Faxon Gunner Lightweight M16 BCG with Superfinish and an ambidextrous charging handle. Fire control is provided by the Faxon Enhanced Match Trigger by Schmid®, complemented by an ambidextrous safety selector. The Faxon 13" (33.0 cm) Carbon Fiber M-LOK® handguard combines low weight with high strength.

The rear of the rifle is fitted with an MFT Minimalist Stock or similar ultralight configuration, together with a B5 grip. The ION Ultralight is manufactured in-house by Faxon Firearms at its Greater Cincinnati, Ohio facility and is backed by the Faxon Lifetime Guarantee.
