The NEA-15 is a modern semi-automatic rifle based on the AR-15 platform and manufactured by Canadian company North Eastern Arms (NEA). The platform is designed around high-quality materials, durable construction, advanced surface treatments, long service life, and accuracy. This configuration is chambered in .223 Remington and features a 10.5-inch barrel manufactured from 4140 CMV steel with a 1:7" twist rate. Both the bore and exterior barrel surface are treated with ARC+, an advanced form of nitriding designed to enhance resistance to corrosion and wear. According to the manufacturer, ARC+-treated components can withstand immersion in a 10% salt solution for 50 hours without showing signs of corrosion.

The upper receiver is also treated with ARC+ and impregnated with a lubricant that forms a dry protective film on the surface. The bolt is likewise nitrided using ARC+ technology.
