Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P Shield X Carry Comp Thumb Safety is an enhanced version of the Shield X platform, engineered to deliver improved shooting control, faster target reacquisition, and maximum adaptability for everyday concealed carry. Chambered in 9×19 mm, this micro-compact pistol features a polymer frame and operates on a striker-fired system. It measures 17.4 cm in overall length, 12.4 cm in height, and just 2.3 cm in width, with a weight of approximately 584 g. The pistol ships with 13-round and 15-round magazines and includes a manual thumb safety for added carry security.

The pistol is equipped with a 3.6" (9.1 cm) stainless steel barrel featuring an Armornite® finish, a 1:10" twist rate, and an integrated ported design to help reduce muzzle rise during firing. The integrated Carry Comp® system with PowerPort™ technology redirects gases upward to minimize felt recoil and enable faster follow-up shots. The ported stainless steel slide with Armornite® finish features aggressive front and rear serrations for confident manipulation and includes an RMSc/K optic-ready cut for direct mounting of compatible micro red dot optics. In addition, the ClearSight™ Cut design diverts gases away from the optic to help maintain a clear sight picture while shooting.

Ergonomics are enhanced by a slim textured grip, a flat-face trigger for consistent trigger control, and a front accessory rail for mounting lights or other equipment. Target acquisition is supported by Ameriglo® night sights, consisting of a Trooper LumiGreen front sight and a blacked-out serrated rear sight. Combining compact dimensions, increased capacity, advanced recoil compensation, and optic-ready capability, this model offers a highly modern and effective solution for personal defense and everyday concealed carry.
