The P22Q pistol in .22LR caliber is a version of the original P22 pistol. However, only the external design of the pistol has undergone changes, which follows the current trend of Walther pistols. The body of the pistol is made of a combination of polymer and steel, thanks to which the pistol weighs only 480 g and is easy to handle.

Despite the design change, the pistol has retained the original magazine release system on the trigger guard, unlike other innovative Walther weapons. All other controls of the weapon are ambidextrous, making the P22Q pistol an ideal weapon even for left-handed shooters. To ensure that the weapon fits in the hand of everyone, the shape and size of the handle can be regulated with a replaceable back rest and magazine extension.
