The Mossberg 590 Shockwave SPX is a 12/76 pump-action shotgun built on the proven 590 platform and enhanced with tactical features including a side saddle shell carrier, removable top rail, and barrel heat shield.
The shotgun features a 365 mm (14.375") Heavy-Walled Barrel with a matte blued finish. The barrel incorporates a Heat Shield, Stand-Off muzzle device, and a fixed Cylinder Bore, making it suitable for both shotshells and slugs.
The receiver is drilled and tapped and supplied with a removable top rail for mounting optics or a red dot sight. A receiver-mounted Side Saddle with five shell holders provides rapid access to additional ammunition.
The proven Mossberg 590 action incorporates dual extractors, twin action bars, positive steel-to-steel lockup, and a smooth-operating anti-jam elevator. Mossberg's ambidextrous manual safety is also included.
The firearm is fitted with the signature Shockwave Raptor Grip (Bird's-head Grip) designed to reduce perceived recoil. A Corn Cob polymer forend with an integrated retention strap enhances control during operation.
A bead front sight is fitted for aiming. The tubular magazine provides a 5+1 round capacity. Overall length is 670 mm (26.37"), while weight is approximately 2.6 kg (5.75 lb). The shotgun also features a Clean-Out Tube for simplified maintenance.
