The Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical Professional Series is a modern semi-automatic shotgun designed for tactical, defensive, and professional applications. Building upon the proven 940 Pro platform, this model combines exceptional reliability, fast handling, and a range of advanced features optimized for use with optics and tactical accessories.
The shotgun operates via a gas-operated semi-automatic system engineered for cleaner operation and extended maintenance intervals. The redesigned gas system reduces fouling buildup and enhances reliability during prolonged shooting sessions. An ergonomically designed bolt release further improves handling speed and ease of operation under demanding conditions.
Chambered for 12/76 (12 Gauge, 3") shotshells, the shotgun features a tubular magazine with a capacity of 7+1 rounds, providing ample ammunition capacity for defensive, duty, or competition use. The 18.5" (470 mm) heavy-walled barrel increases durability and contributes to stable handling during rapid fire. The barrel is equipped with a fixed Cylinder Bore choke, making it particularly well suited for close-range engagements.
The barrel is finished with a durable Tungsten Cerakote polymer-ceramic coating, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, wear, and harsh environmental conditions. An innovative fore-end design incorporates an integrated heat shield to reduce heat transfer during extended shooting sessions.
The receiver is factory-configured to accept optics and allows direct mounting of micro red-dot sights using the RMSc footprint. Adapter plates are included for optics utilizing the RMR, Docter, and Leupold DeltaPoint mounting standards. Sighting equipment consists of a rear Ghost Ring sight paired with a front fiber-optic sight, both protected by low-profile wings for increased durability.
The black synthetic stock offers extensive adjustability to fit individual shooters. The length of pull (LOP) is adjustable from 12.5" to 14.25" (318–362 mm), while additional adjustments for cast and drop allow further customization of stock fit. A barrel clamp equipped with M-LOK mounting slots provides attachment points for accessories such as weapon lights, lasers, or other tactical equipment.
With an overall length of 37.5" (953 mm) and a weight of approximately 7.5 lbs (3.4 kg), the shotgun delivers an excellent balance between maneuverability and shooting stability.
