The Heckler & Koch HK45 Tactical is an enhanced tactical variant of the HK45, designed for demanding users who require maximum control, high accuracy, and compatibility with suppressors and other accessories. It combines the robust HK45 platform with ergonomics inspired by classic handgun designs, particularly the M1911, while meeting modern tactical and sporting requirements.
Chambered in .45 ACP, the pistol features a Single Action / Double Action trigger system with a combined manual safety and decocking lever. The trigger pull is 20 N in single action and 50 N in double action, with a 12 mm trigger travel and a 6 mm reset, providing excellent control during both precision and rapid fire. The magazine capacity is 10 rounds.
The HK45 Tactical operates on a recoil-operated system using a modified Browning locking mechanism. The 130 mm barrel is manufactured from cold hammer-forged special steel, features polygonal rifling with six grooves and a right-hand twist, and is hard chrome-plated for extended service life. An O-ring embedded at the muzzle minimizes barrel play within the slide, enhancing repeatable accuracy. The barrel is additionally equipped with a 16×1 LH threaded muzzle, allowing the use of suppressors or other muzzle devices.
The frame is made from ultra-high-strength polymer and incorporates a patented recoil reduction system that lowers felt recoil by up to 30%, significantly improving shooting comfort with this caliber. The grip angle follows that of the M1911, and ergonomics can be further adjusted via an exchangeable backstrap. A slip-resistant grip texture ensures secure handling in all weather conditions.
All primary controls are fully ambidextrous, making the pistol suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. Rear slide serrations allow confident slide manipulation even when wearing gloves or with wet hands. The pistol is equipped with LPA Match sights featuring a micrometer-adjustable rear sight and SuperLuminova elements, enabling fast and precise target acquisition in low-light environments.
A Picatinny rail compatible with MIL‑STD‑1913 is integrated into the frame for mounting accessories such as weapon lights or laser aiming devices. The pistol can be field-stripped into its main assemblies without tools, simplifying maintenance. With a weight of 790 g without magazine, the HK45 Tactical offers an excellent balance of durability, recoil control, and handling.
