Ruger LCR is a double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum cartridges, designed as an ultralight compact platform optimized for concealed carry, durability, and ease of use. The frame is a monolithic construction made from 400-series stainless steel, providing high strength and corrosion resistance while keeping overall weight low.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) and features a modern fire control system with a patented friction-reducing cam, producing a smooth trigger pull with no increase in resistance throughout the stroke (non-stacking). A polymer fire control housing maintains precise alignment of internal components, reduces overall weight, and helps mitigate felt recoil.
The cold hammer-forged barrel features a 1:16" RH twist rate, optimized for .357 Magnum cartridges. A replaceable pinned ramp front sight combined with an integral U-notch rear sight provides a simple and durable sighting system. The cylinder is made of high-strength stainless steel with a PVD finish and is extensively fluted to reduce weight. Ergonomics are enhanced by a Hogue® Tamer™ Monogrip®, which significantly reduces perceived recoil and improves control.
In terms of dimensions, the Ruger LCR features a barrel length of 1.87" (47 mm), an overall length of 165 mm, a cylinder capacity of 5 rounds, and a weight of approximately 485 g, making it a lightweight and highly concealable revolver designed for everyday carry.
