Ruger Redhawk is a double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum, designed as a robust and highly durable platform for sustained use with powerful magnum ammunition. The construction is based on a solid stainless steel frame with no side plates, featuring reinforced areas at the top strap, sidewalls, and barrel mounting regions to ensure exceptional strength and longevity under heavy use.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) and employs a unique single-spring trigger system, contributing to a smooth and relatively light trigger pull. A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel utilizes a sleeved and shrouded design, is cold hammer-forged, and offers outstanding accuracy and long service life. It features a 1:18.75" RH twist rate, optimized for .357 Magnum ammunition. The sighting system consists of an adjustable rear sight and a replaceable front blade with a colored insert and white outline, allowing for fast and precise target acquisition.
The cylinder has a capacity of 8 rounds, is machined to accept full moon clips, and the revolver is supplied with three full moon clips, which function as speed loaders and aid in the extraction of spent cases. Models chambered in .357 Magnum are also capable of firing .38 Special cartridges. The cylinder incorporates a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) to ensure precise alignment and dependable operation shot after shot. Ergonomics are enhanced by hardwood grips, complementing the revolver's traditional appearance.
