Ruger SP101 is a double-action revolver chambered for 9mm Luger, designed as a compact and durable platform for versatile use, including defensive, service, and recreational shooting. The construction is based on a stainless steel frame, providing high strength, corrosion resistance, and long service life while maintaining compact dimensions.
The revolver operates in a double-action mechanism (DA) with a standard exposed hammer. A transfer bar safety system provides an enhanced level of protection against accidental discharge.
The barrel measures 2.25" (57 mm) and is cold hammer-forged for durability and accuracy. It features a 1:16" RH twist rate, optimized for 9mm Luger cartridges. The sighting system consists of a fixed rear sight and a pinned, replaceable black ramp front sight.
The cylinder has a capacity of 5 rounds and uses a triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom lock-up) for strong alignment and consistent operation shot after shot. This model is supplied with three full moon clips, which act as speed loaders for 9mm cartridges and assist in the extraction of spent cases. Ergonomics are provided by cushioned rubber grips with a synthetic insert, eliminating direct metal contact with the backstrap and improving shooting comfort.
