Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk Hunter is a single-action revolver chambered for .44 Remington Magnum cartridges, based on the heavy-duty Super Blackhawk platform and optimized for hunting use with integrated optics-mounting capability. The frame is made of stainless steel with a satin stainless finish, providing excellent corrosion resistance and the rigidity required for high-energy magnum performance in field conditions.
The revolver operates in a single-action system and is equipped with a transfer bar safety mechanism and a loading gate interlock, ensuring secure handling even with all chambers loaded. The cold hammer-forged barrel provides precise rifling with a 1:20" RH twist rate, optimized for heavy .44 Magnum projectiles. A fixed ramp front sight combined with an adjustable rear sight ensures reliable and precise aiming, while the Hunter configuration includes integral scope mounting provisions machined directly into the barrel rib, offering a rigid and stable platform for optics without introducing potential looseness. Internal durability is supported by robust coil springs throughout the mechanism, ensuring long-term reliability. Ergonomics are complemented by black laminate grips, improving control and stability under recoil.
