Taurus 692 is a modern medium-frame multi-caliber revolver offering the ability to use three types of ammunition: .357 Magnum, .38 Special +P, and 9mm Luger. The caliber can be changed between .357 Magnum / .38 Special +P and 9mm Luger by simply replacing the cylinder. The 7-round cylinder provides greater capacity than conventional six-shot revolvers, while the compact 3" (76 mm) barrel offers a good balance of handling and accuracy.
The revolver operates in DA/SA mode, allowing both double-action and single-action firing, and features an external spurred hammer. The adjustable rear sight allows precise adjustment of the point of aim, while the fixed front sight provides a simple and durable sighting system.
The 3" (76 mm) barrel features porting, which helps reduce muzzle rise and allows faster target reacquisition. The revolver is supplied with two cylinders, with the 9mm Luger cylinder allowing this common pistol cartridge to be used in the revolver platform. Stellar Clips are also included for use with 9mm Luger ammunition.
The frame, cylinder, and barrel are made from stainless steel and feature a satin stainless finish. The revolver is equipped with a transfer bar mechanism, providing an additional measure of protection against accidental discharge.
With an overall length of 207 mm, height of 144 mm, width of 38 mm, unloaded weight of 992 g, 7-round capacity, the Taurus 692 is a versatile revolver offering the flexibility of multiple calibers in a single platform.
